Mining, Quarry & Earthmoving

The mining industry operates under some of the most demanding conditions, making effective wear solutions essential for maintaining equipment performance and reducing operational costs. By implementing a combination of high-performance materials, protective coatings, innovative designs, and effective monitoring, mining operations can significantly mitigate wear-related challenges.

Abrasion-tech has a variety of hardfacing wires, tubular electrodes, tungsten carbide products and other solutions, including chrome carbide and tungsten carbide wear plate, to provide wear protection for this industry. These products are used to reduce high maintenance costs and prevent unwanted shutdowns.

Abrasion-tech is the complete source for all of your wear protection needs. We not only fabricate, but also develop and produce our own wear resistant materials to meet your specific needs and specifications.

The typical applications are listed but not at least: Truck trough liners, hopper liners, chute liners, crusher parts, covers, wear rods and plates, electric shovels, backhoes, scrapers, loader buckets, bulldozer buckets, dragline shovels.

If you have specific equipment or applications in mind, we'd be happy to provide more tailored recommendations!

Wear-Resistant Materials

Wear-Resistant Materials

High-Chrome Carbide Overlay Steel:

This material is effective in high-impact applications such as crusher parts and ball mill liners due to its excellent wear resistance.

High-Manganese Steel:

Known for its work-hardening properties, this steel is ideal for components subjected to heavy impacts, like jaw crushers and concaves.

High-Strength Steel & Other Wear Plates:

High-strength steel like Hardox®, NM Steel, AR Steel can be used for areas prone to high abrasion, including chutes, hoppers and buckets.

Wear Liners & Impact Bars:

Installing removable liners in critical wear areas can protect base materials and facilitate easier replacement when worn. Common materials include CCO steel, TCO steel, AR steel plate and other metal alloys.

Coatings and Treatments

Ceramic & Composite Coatings:

Coatings made from ceramics or composites enhance surface hardness and reduce friction, ideal for areas exposed to heavy abrasion.

 Plasma & Laser Coatings:

These coatings provide a robust surface that resists wear and corrosion, suitable for various equipment exposed to harsh conditions.

Optimized Geometry:

Redesigning components to reduce material impact and improve flow can significantly cut down on wear. For example, smooth transitions in chutes can minimize material hang-up and impact.

 Self-Adjusting Liners:

These liners can automatically adjust to wear patterns, providing consistent protection and maximizing the lifespan of equipment.
